Steve Gouveia is a musician/actor/ songwriter, born and raised in San
Diego. Currently, he can be seen as Nick Massi in the National Tour
of Jersey Boys. He is a member of the original Tony award
winning Broadway cast, and has been with the show ever since its world
premiere in San Diego at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2004. Regional
acting credits include: Buddy Holly in Buddy: The Buddy
Holly Story,
Claude in Hair (w/Sara Ramirez), Dave Rudabaugh in The
Collected Works of Billy the Kid (directed by Des McAnuff), It
Ain’t Nothin’ But The
Blues, Cabaret, Pageant, and Hedwig and
the Angry Inch. As
a musician, Steve has worked with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons,
The Verve Pipe, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors, Chris
Thompson of Manfred Mann, A Cast of Thousands, The Red Dirt Band,
Danielle LoPresti and the Masses, Andy Qunta of Icehouse, Michael
Cerveris, Micky Dolenz, John Goodman, Sam Harris, Lorna Luft, Debbie
Gibson, Larry Gatlin, The Tokens, The CBS Orchestra, and others. He has
also performed for The Today Show, Late Night With David Letterman, The
2006 Tony Awards, The New York City Marathon (singing, not running--much
easier), and The Christopher Reeve Foundation.
And by the
way, it’s pronounced “go-VAY-uh”. It’s Portuguese. It has all the
vowels. He's keeping it.
